<b style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Kochadaiiyaan Music Review</b></div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
Kochadaiiyaan is ARR’s sixth straight album for Rajinikanth. The combo has delivered phenomenal hits time and again and kept every music lover up on their toes before the album release. That’s the hype and gravity Kochadaiiyaan album is surrounded with. Add to this, the grandest audio launch planned with SRK as the Chief Guest and bigwigs in the industry joining the team.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
The film has 9 soundtracks and lyrics by Vairamuthu and Vaali. Vairamuthu has written 8 songs of the album. It is worth mentioning that it is for Muthu, the triumvirate ARR, Rajinikanth and Vairamuthu joined hands for the first time.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
<b style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Engae PogudhoVaanam</b></div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
Whenever ARR scores music for Rajinikanth, probably the most anticipated track of the album would be the one sung by SPB. And, EngaePogudhoVaanam justifies that cultism. Reverberating strings, rich percussions and a commanding voice of SPB – WIN! One of the best soundtracks ARR has ever produced for Rajini – SPB (Or THE best?). This is the kind of soundtrack that would give fans adrenaline rush in theatres. A sealed success!</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
<b style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Manappenin Sathiyam</b></div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
A beautiful rendition by LathaRajinikanth. Total earworm material this one. Latha’s voice sounds as divine as it was in her popular<i style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Kadavul Ullame </i>in AnbullaRajnikanth. The song’s arrangements took me back to an old Rajinikanth song composed by Ilayaraja for Maniratnam. Remember the chorus section “Kuniththa Puruvamum Kovvaich Chevvaayil Kumizh Sirippum” in <i style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Rakkamma Kaiya Thattu</i>song in <i style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Thalapathi</i>?<i style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Manappenin Sathiyam </i>is quite reminiscent of that track.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
<b style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Manamaganin Sathiyam</b></div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
ARR’s love for Haricharan continues. <i style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Manamaganin Sathiyam</i>is yet another feather in the cap for Haricharan’s solo renditions. Lovely singing!</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
<b style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Rana’s Dream (Instrumental)</b></div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
<i style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Rana’s Dream</i> is the reflective instrumental version of <i style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Engae Pogutho Vaanam</i>by London Sessions Orchestra<i style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">. </i>If there’s one soundtrack that stridentlyresembles the authenticity of the film’s genre, this is it.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
<b style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">EngalKochadaiiyaan</b></div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
<i style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Engal Kochadaiiyaan</i> sung by the Kochadaiiyaan Ensemble is perhaps the passable track in the album. Resonating orchestrations and occasional hymns in the background should serve well the visuals I believe.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
<b style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Karma Veeran</b></div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
Etherealvoice of Rahman and a soulful prelude to the song by AR Raihanah makes for a wonderful start to the song. The everlasting vocals sound repetitive for the album. Nevertheless, as all ARR songs do, this one might just take its time to grow on you.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
<b style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Maattram Ondrudhaan Maaraadhadhu</b></div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
This song is yet another substantiation that Vairamuthu is one of the most powerful writers in Tamil cinema. This is Rajinikanth’s punch-line rendition equivalent to Kamal Haasan’s poetic <i style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Kavithai </i>song in ManmadhamAmbu. Haricharan manages well in the occasional vocals to complement Rajinikanth.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
<b style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Medhuvaagathaan</b></div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
A lovely melody sung by the evergreen duo SPB-SadhanaSargam and the song is written by the maverick late Vaali. Last time, he penned for Rajinikanth in Sivaji for the <em style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Athiradee </em>song, a quintessential classic. Finally, SPB has made a flawless comeback after a lull. Sadhana sounds beautiful as always. The song is a reminiscence of Rahman in the 90s.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
<b style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Idhayam</b></div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
How do you make a pathos a killer? Make Chinmayee deliver it. Such an effortless singing this. One of our recommended tracks of the album. After a long time, Srinivas makes a comeback in an ARR album, a forgettable comeback.</div>

<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
The album opens up with STR’s “EngathaanPorantha” which is a medley of Guitar Chords, Hip-Hop Beats and Dubstep fillers. It’s a definitely catchy in parts and will grab the listener’s attention to be one of the peppy songs of the season.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Hey Vasamoakka</strong></div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
AnirudhRavichander, Andrea Jeremiah’s “Hey Vasamoakka” has that positive vibe combining unusual elements with different genres in one track. Vocals are tweaked here and there to give the electro-music age feel. It can be a radio-hit!<br style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;" /><strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Inky Pinky Inky Ponky</strong><br style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;" />The Second STR’s track in the album “Inky Pinky Inky Ponky” is all about leading character putting the word out to his love, what she means to him and what he would do to impress her. It’s made-to-be peppy track and vocals are tweaked in this song as well.<br style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;" /><strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Love Endravan Nee Yaaruda</strong><br style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;" />STR’s third track is mix of dabankkuthu and rock (i.e. use of guitar and bass) or “KuthuPattu” to be precise. The Song is about the negative impact of love in his life. Suprisingly, Simbu’s vocals are tweaked in this song as well which doesn’t give a good-feel to the track.<br style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;" /><strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Vaathiyaaru</strong><br style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;" />The track leads the vocals of T. Rajendran aka TR. SS Thaman, the music director has tried this track with the combination of dabankkuthu and Drum & Bass genre. It’s fast and peppy masala track with surprise interludes for Ajit and Simbhu Fans. Sure to be an audience winner.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
SS Thaman does a decent job in bringing peppy tracks as in Vaalu.  The songs are catchy and focused for the ears of the youth. It would also surface to meet the expectation of the masses. However, the quality slightly drops when you see such regular tweaks to vocals and habituated the influence of electronic music.</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
Film crafting is always an art, to script a plot is bursting out emotion and to direct the script is pure guts, if this is fact then writer/director Raju Murugan has made the emotions to travel through the audience getting the reward with the claps and pinching the tear glands by getting output from all the cast and crew.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
Cuckoo is total emotion of fear, friendship and sense of touch adding with the tender of love. Its the complete travel of Tamil and Kodi two people seeing the dark side of life with the blindness. Keeping the pace slow with the narrations the director gets enough time to induce the pain into the audience. The lead cast done by Attakathi Dinesh, Malavika Nair along with Murugadoss, Ilango (character name) and with many new faces. The first half starts with Raju Murugan seeing a poster mentioning an advertisement to find the missing people in the railway station which has Dinesh as the missing victim. Then the flash back starts with Raju Murugan detailing how he met Dinesh and narrates the lifestyle of visually challenged people and their daily earnings in the local trains. We as a normal people would have come across so many people in our lives but wouldn’t have imagined their life and the pain that they carry in their daily activities.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
Malavika Nair as Sudandhira Kodi has done it the hard way and she comes from a normal family searching the proper guidance from her brother who never fulfills her ambition but instead plans to get the living using her deficiency of sight. But Malavika gets the love of her life from Dinesh who is also visually challenged by birth. They travel with love in belief that life will bring all happiness, meanwhile Malavika’s brother looks in for alliance who wishes to pay him money in return to get married to the actress. With the opposition and fear of what happened to the Dinesh and Malavika ends the first half.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
Raju Murugan finds Dinesh in a railway station and deciding to help him all the ways gets to know what happened to Kodi who was last seen when Dinesh went missing. The second half is the complete show of performance from the hero and being visually challenged, how he find Kodi what happens next is narrated in the cinematic & emotional manner is all that cuckoo silently tells the audience. The climax is beautifully crafted with making the audience to keep lashes widely open. The director won in his narration with making use of all the cast quite appropriate to what the script really required. All the artist touches the audience with their performance with Murugadoss being the only person who looks familiar has done it well being a care-taker and friend of Dinesh. He also gets the audience to giggle at times with his realistic dialogues. Santhosh Narayan can split his hand open to collect all the wishes and applause with his immense touch of music scores and BGM. Cinematographer PK Varma has kept the lens close enough to get the sight of performance from the casts and it certainly needs applause from the audience.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
Not to forget, Maestro Ilayaraja is still carrying all the credits that youngsters need to express their love with his explicit music. Dinesh in this flick also takes the chance to earn and shows his love with the definition of music from the legend.</div>

Its racy, crisp & sharp in the 1st half whereas the screenplay lags in 2nd half with lengthy fights & unwanted songs. But coming to the finish line, it will engage you for a worthy watch.</div>

<span style="border: 0px none; line-height: 1.5em; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">“It’s  always hard to digest the truth”, The story line details and stays on this fact. Nimirnthu Nil is the apt title and tells the fact and working culture of the government employees in the country. The first half is the racy plot leaving the audience not even to blink with so good touch in the performance.</span></div>

<span style="border: 0px none; line-height: 1.5em; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Jayam Ravi gets his basic education in an ashram ran by Nasser where he learns self discipline, devotion, dignity, decorum and mutual respect for fellow humans. He tries it in his daily living and fails in each and every aspect of his daily </span>activities.<span style="border: 0px none; line-height: 1.5em; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;"> But gets humiliated virtually inducing him to fight against corruption and disobedience of law & order. Amala Paul comes in for a soft romantic portion and gets attracted towards Ravi’s honesty & innocence. She impresses with her realistic dialogues and expressions.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
The first half details the role and activity of corrupted government officials and truth gets hard to digest. Ravi along with Soori, Thambi Ramaiah, Subbu Panchu, Gopinath and others plans to create a fake profile of a person who doesn’t really exist and they also succeed by bribing the officials. Ravi gets the proof of all the activity and makes a record to sue all the officials corresponding to the event. The proof is showcased to the public through the help of the media and politicians try to stop this act by bringing in CBI Officer Sarath Kumar. By proving the work nature of the officials, Ravi induces the anger of all the youngsters and gathers all the crowd in support for the cause, ends the first half.</div>
<div style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px 0px 1em;">
The government official involved in the issue is taken to enquiry and given a period of time to prove that they haven’t made any wrong profiles. The officials gather to solve the issue and collects the proof to get the glimpse of identity of the person for whom they have issued the certificates. The photograph portrays Ravi in a different look claiming as Haricharan. The officials tries to find the person with the same identity and virtually finds Narasimma Reddy (another role of Jayam Ravi), who looks very similar as in the certificate. He justifies himself as baddie with his harsh performance and borrows a huge amount of money in return to come in as Haricharan, as the fake profile created. The dual  role is forced to become good with an usual twist as in all Tamil movies which the audience would have witnessed earlier. It is dragged with unnecessary actions, songs and quietly missing the good rapport that was created in the first half.  The director needs to be praised for maintaining such a huge crowd of celebrities and getting the performance might have been a bigger challenge.</div>
